Lately.. #3

On Sunday my plans fell through and, as it was a grim day, I decided to do some baking instead. I made mint choc chip cupcakes with mint aero bubbles, but they definitely taste better with ice cream than alone!

On Sunday afternoon Simon and I watched The Incredibles. What better way to while away a rainy afternoon?

I've been enjoying using my new bag from Urban Outfitters. It was an impulse purchase a week ago with some left over Christmas money. My old go-to bag is falling to bits so I have no regrets about picking this one up!

I spied this nail polish when I was out with my friend Katie on Saturday and I love it. It's called Little Bo Peep by Rimmel and I think it looks very understated but elegant too. I don't usually go for neutral nail colours so it's a bit of a novelty for me.

What have you been up to lately?

Brighton

Yesterday I made a bit of an impulsive trip to Brighton to make the most of the sunshine we've been having. I have a bit of a soft spot for Brighton because I used to go a lot with friends while I was at school, and then one of my best friends went to uni there so I used to visit her frequently.
Simon was suffering a bit from the night before, so food was definitely in order! I did a little research and thought it would be nice to try out JB's American Diner. When we went in we were told it would be half an hour for a table and then another half an hour for food, but within fifteen minutes we were seated in a booth. We both opted for oreo milkshakes which were incredible. They each came with a metal cup full of milkshake too – much to my dismay I couldn't finish it! For food, I had a chicken burger with mozzarella and avocado (my dream combo) and Simon went for a beef burger with cheese and pineapple. We were so full when we left!
We spent a bit of time wondering around the pier and the North Lanes before heading home. I was so surprised that the train fare is only £10 return from London (even cheaper with a railcard), I'm sure I'll be heading back come summer.
Have you been to Brighton?

Holiday Scrapbook – Disneyland Paris

Happy New Year everyone! And I hope you all had a lovely Christmas too. I've been a little slack with posting of late, but Christmas was crazy busy and then I had a spot of the January blues. I've also come to the sad realisation that I'm nearly at the end of the Christmas chocolate... Tragic, I know.
Anyway, I thought it was about time I posted the second half of my holiday snaps (you can find the first post here). As you may have guessed, we went to Disneyland Paris. I completely understand that not everyone would love the thought of a Disney holiday, but Simon and I had an amazing time. Going just two weeks before Christmas really got us into the festive spirit and it was pure escapism at its best.
Now all the excitement has passed, I can't stop daydreaming about booking another holiday – although this time I'm leaning towards sandy beaches and plenty of relaxing!
Do you have any holidays planned?
